1990 Buick Reatta runs strong needs restoration. Rare hand-built convertible in good restorable condition. This Reatta has 123k miles. The car drives good, the 3800 engine runs strong and the transmission shifts good. I bought it to restore for the spring, but need to sell. It would make an excellent winter project. I will list the good points and work I know it needs done. Most of the work is minor or cosmetic. I have been driving the car regularly The good: The engine starts right up, no noise or smoke. The transmission shifts good with no issues. The car gives a decent ride, no major issues ( rotors pulsing some) The body looks straight and solid 99% rustfree, very minimal surface rust underneath, no holes or cancer. The interior is in good shape for its age, the leather seats look nice with no damage. The power windows, locks , mirrors work Dash instruments work ( I think cluster was improved over earlier models) Starter, alternator, lights working The bad: The car had a rebuilt salvage title issued in 2001 in California. The car looks straight with no signs of any frame damage or repair, so not sure why. The car has been driven 100k since. The car needs a convertible top. The car needs tires. They hold air, but down to the cords. Minor stuff: The headlights stay up. They work and can be wound down manually. The AC service light is on, may need AC charge.Check engine light and abs light on intermittently. Recommend brakes gone over, rotors rusty. Overall a good running Reatta I would not hesitate to drive with new tires and minor maintenance. These cars are appreciating in value with restored examples going for 10-15k. Nice 2 owner Buick Reatta that needs nothing. Only driven to a couple of shows in Los Angeles and is always stored in my garage. I do drive it once or twice a month just around the town.All original except for new black alloy rims and new tires. Stock rims for this model are easy to source and are not costly. Even the top is original. Drivers seat leather is creased, but not damaged. Carpets are like new. Dash has no cracks. All glass is excellent.Upgraded sound system. Again, the factory type unit is easy to source, if you are a purist like to play cassettes??Headlights motors and hardware was improved two years ago. Instrument panel was rebuilt two years ago. Many receipts for maintenance included as well as mint condition shop manual and all owners information booklets and pouch. No pen and tire gauge in owners pouch. This is a garage kept Rare 1990 Buick Reatta, luxury sports car, never been in an accident! She is a 29 year old classic, with no RUST from out West in Oregon and no DENTS at all. The interior is in amazing condition, even the headliner is tight and not sagging. The Reatta is fully loaded, all the options work. These great collectible cars are only going up in value and I have Classic Car insurance on it, full coverage with $100.00 Deductible is ONLY $110.00 a year! She runs and drives very nice! This is a beautiful example of a very rare and collectable American classic 2-SEATER car finished in Maui Blue. It has low miles for the year (less than 4600 miles per year) and looks great for a 29 year old car. This car has been meticulously maintained. I purchased this automobile from the estate of a former airline pilot. And in true pilot fashion he maintained every service record for years. All service and maintenance, right down to the wiper blades, was performed by the Buick dealership. These records will come with the car and are available for your review. Currently it has 131,4xx miles (may increase slightly since I do like to drive it) on the Buick 3800 V6 engine which is commonly described as "bulletproof" due to it's reputation for longevity and durability. I drove this car on a 900 mile round-trip weekend auto rally on California Hwy 1 a couple of years ago and loved it. It handles the curves beautifully and is super-comfortable on the highway. I have so much fun driving it that I hate to give it up. I originally purchased this car as a weekender for myself but my daughter absolutely fell in love with the car and I ended up giving it to her to drive when she is home from college. She no longer needs it and I already have too many other cars now so she has asked me to sell it for her. The first thing you notice when driving it is the expansive visibility. Almost like being in a convertible. It gave me a feeling of confidence and safety when my daughter would drive it. The former owner had it upgraded by Buick dealership to the environmentally friendly A/C standard (R-134) so the recharge Freon is readily (and legally) available. This is a big reason to own this Reatta over one that has not been upgraded, saving you a couple of thousand dollars in the process. Only about 21,000 of these cars were in limited collector-volume production between 1988 and 1991 and the 1990 is the best year to own. Each car was HANDMADE by specialized teams of craftsmen in the Lansing Craft Center in Lansing, Michigan. Buick wanted to demonstrate it's ability to produce a quality luxury-sports car that was ahead of its time. It was not meant to compete with it in the performance area, but when new, this luxury-sports car had a sticker price higher than the same model year Corvette. This car sports a fully independent suspension, driver side airbag, 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS, and front wheel drive. It also incorporates an electronic digital dash, a thermostatically controlled heat and A/C system (set it and forget it), and completely adjustable LEATHER 16 way power seats. Lift the door handle and an internal light illuminates the key lock and the vehicle interior. The trunk is cavernous but the car also has a lot of behind-the-seats road-trip storage space and a power reclining seat functionality for added comfort that you may never find in another 2 seat sports car. It also features two separate lockable storage compartments in addition to a pass through door into the trunk. This car is fully loaded with every option available except the power sunroof. It has a current California smog certificate and the registration is not due until July 2019. Brand new tires installed just a few weeks ago. This car also retains the original key fobs and the leather-bound book containing the owners manual which was presented to each new owner. (Does not include the pen, flashlight, tire gauge that were originally included) Also please note: The check engine light is NOT on. I just had the key turned to display the electronic dash. This unit is mounted in the dash below the CD player. As you can see in the pictures the removable antenna is mounted to the trunk lid. It comes with a handheld microphone with keypad. The unit powers up but I have no idea how to operate it. Let me know if you would like to see this and I will send you a couple of pictures.
